The Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA) has announced a revised myanmar company registration and annual fee structure for local companies.
Previously, registration fees for all companies was set at K1 million. But now, registration fees for public companies has risen to K2.5 million and private companies’ fees have been reduced to K500,000.
“Private companies are under a single ownership so investment is less than public companies. With the aim of helping small and medium enterprises in Myanmar we have reduced the registration fee. Public companies’ investment amounts are large, that is the reason why we increased the fee,” Deputy Director of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, Daw Khin Ohmar Aung said.
Other government-based fees for Myanmar business will remain the same for both public and private companies. According to DICA updated rates, the company registration extension fee decreased from K500,000 to K300,00, change of address and share transfer fees increased from K2,500 to K25,000 and business objectives and company name changes increased from K7,500 to K75,000.
DICA has been scrutinising local and foreign investments for licence approval as well as revoking licences that violate DICA’s rules and regulations.
DICA removed around 2,700 local companies and 15 foreign companies from the registered list in accordance with Myanmar Company Act.
Currently, there are 430,000 registered local companies and 4,000 registered foreign companies. The registration fee earns K10 billion annually.
